68 Juta street, in the heart of braamfontein, BKhz Studios opened its doors to the public to well…follow the scent to the descent leading to chaos.
With an array, of not only sublime pieces, was the warm welcome of multifaceted wine boxes- to warm the palates away from whining over the chilling temperature- genius tactic! Soft hues of the studio made walking further in, feel homey, like one was at the right place at the exact right time.
Having been a first timer, I was taken aback firstly by the warm smiles emitted from entities unknown to me, later complimented by evocative, abstract and folksy pieces, presented to us by Odirile (@O.khune), Seth (@African_ginger) and Keneliwe (@ke_niel_we) which all upheld their creators meaning.
Descent into chaos, for me, happened to have been an exhibition which emphasised variety in authenticity, artwork and art perception.
Odirile Khune Motsiri- @O.khune

Described on his Instagram biography as a; “Contemporary Mixed-Media Artist that Produces Deluxe Mixed Media Art and Deco For Hotels Home Interiors” Odirile’s work is a gem of its own kind that encompasses vivid imagery. With the use of materials such as well, material! Yup, Odirile brings art and his work to life by using mixed-media collages of found material, thus giving his artwork a lively feel-literally

Keneilwe Mokoena- @KE_NIEL_WE
When looking at Keneilwe’s art pieces, all I could, currently still do, relate to is my ever fast-growing spiritual realm. Connecting to his amazing pieces felt like reading what the meaning of significant number means- an acknowledgement and confirmation that I am on the right path! With the spectacular use of lines, Keneilwe wholesomely illustrates the pensive connection between man and the universe in what I’d like to label as “Intensive algorithm”- through the intention of his art, as the viewers, we’re warmly induced (voluntarily) to subconsciously pay attention to thought, mentally and especially that of emotion. His alignment ratio of: words to illustration, has aligned my chakras, without a moment of hesitation!

Seth Pimetel- @African_ginger
Taking a dive into appreciating Seth’s pieces, I was caught in a whirlpool of surrealism- dream like imagery with a nostalgia of child-like designs, just to briefly state surrealism characteristics. Captivated by what I’d like to express as “Shadowism-embrace your dark” Seth’s pieces illuminated an ingrained perception of self that I,not only thought I hid away, I’ve managed to fully embrace. With the use of contrasting colours and effects, Seth tapped into the pinnacle of alluring one into the divinity of one’s realm of divine-be it your demons or your ever changing God, regardless of which perspective, Seth is truly blessed with the motion of the so-real-est!
